Scanning mirror (galvanometer)

Scanning mirrors are lightweight rectangular mirrors used in high-speed two-axis laser scanning systems. The size of each mirror is calculated accordingly based on the size of the laser beam. The mirror design has a high reflectivity of more than 99.5%. Scanning mirrors are usually mounted on galvanometers for scanning. For two-axis scanning mirrors, Y mirrors are usually larger in size than X mirrors. This is because X mirrors are used to scan Y mirrors rather than directly scanning objects.

Lightweight rectangular or polygonal mirrors used in high-speed two-axis laser scanning systems are typically mounted on galvanometer motors to achieve scanning.
